The Bachelor of Social Science, Criminology and Criminal Justice major offers you the opportunity to study crime and criminal justice in a critical way that stresses the social and cultural definitions of criminality.
If you are interested in the complexities of detection, prevention and correction, or the cultural and social factors of criminality, the Bachelor of Social Science with a major in Criminology and Criminal Justice could be the degree for you. This major will give you a comprehensive understanding of how all of these factors fit together.
This course requires successful completion of 240 credit points which includes eight core subjects, eight major subjects taken as a Social Science specialisation and eight elective subjects which can be chosen from any discipline available at Sydney City Campus.
At Sydney City Campus, you can complete your three year bachelor’s degree in as little as two years and enter the workforce sooner. A bachelor’s degree usually consists of 24 subjects. With our flexible academic calendar, you can study 12 subjects in one year over three trimesters. However, we recommend that you undertake a maximum of 3 subjects per trimester so that your study load is not too demanding. You will have less downtime between trimesters so a lighter study load will help you to have a better chance at passing all of your subjects.
